Deep Portage Fun Shoot
Come out to Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack on Sunday, May 5, and join in a sporting clays Fun Shoot, sponsored by the Deep Portage Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society. The entry fee is $45 for adults and $20 for participants under age 16. The cost includes two rounds of 50 sporting clays, as well as lunch.
The shoot starts at 10 a.m., with a picnic lunch at noon and door prizes at 2 p.m.

Deep Portage Between the Trees Side by Side Shoot

The Event: Deep Portage Learning Center & the Deep Portage Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society announce a celebration of the pleasures of handling, seeing and shooting fine side by side upland bird guns. A 100-target birdhunter designed sporting clays course is the main event. Side games will be available. Targets may be engaged with any bore, limited to a maximum of 1-1/8 oz. of #7 or smaller shot. Shotguns must be of side by side configuration.
Continental breakfast, lunch and a Banquet dinner included.
Registration is limited to 50 shooters and the cost is $150. Guests may attend and eat for $25. Alternative activities will be available for guests. Overnight accommodations are available. Please inquire.
The Philosophy: The Deep Portage Side by Side Shoot is intended to be a chance for those who enjoy double shotguns and bird hunting to gather and enjoy each others company while having some fun shooting. Although there will be awards for the winner and other participants based on the Lewis Class system, the shoot is best viewed as a non-competitive event or what is commonly called a "Fun Shoot."
Proceeds from the Shoot: All after-expense proceeds from the event will be used to support Deep Portage Hunting and Shooting Sports education programs.

40th Anniversary Celebration of
Deep Portage Conservation Reserve
Join us at Deep Portage Learning Center on Friday, July 5, 2013, for Deep Portage's 40th Anniversary celebration. Festivities start at 5:00 pm.
Events will include:
5:00 pm - Campus tours, including the 55-foot observation tower
5:30 pm - Walleye dinner, brought to you by the Cass County Sheriff's Department
6:30 pm - 40th Anniversary program
7:00 pm - Bluegrass show featuring Dick Kimmel, Jerilyn Kjellberg and Ian Kimmel
