Wood Gasification

A gasification unit can convert timber and charcoal into wood gas, which is a combination of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, traces of methane and other gases which can then be used as energy. As of March 1, 2012 the wood gasification boilers have burned 70 cords of wood, not one gallon of propane has gone to heating the buildings ( Main lodge and Interpretive center).
