Planning Timeline

3-12 Months Before Arrival

• Contact Deep Portage to reserve a time for your school's visit.

• Select classes and activities for your visit.

• Fundraising

• Arrange transportation

• Obtain parental signatures on the required form:

  • DPLC Health & Permission Form​

• Fill out the Dietary Restrictions form for ANY special diet (vegetarian, no pork, food allergies, etc.).

• Give trip information and packing list to parents.

• Select chaperones and discuss their role in the trip.

2 to 8 Weeks Before Arrival (after receiving schedule)

• Assign students to class groups (approximately 15 per group)

• Assign students to bedrooms

2 Weeks Before Arrival

• Inform DPLC of your final group numbers

• Send a specific list of students with food allergies or special dietary needs to kitchen@deepportage.org

• Prepare snacks (if necessary)
